Police in Pinellas Park say a Florida woman turned a party supply into a weapon during an unexpected restaurant altercation last week.

According to an arrest affidavit obtained by Fox 13, 48-year-old Krystl Watts confronted a man at the OCC Road House on 49th Street North on Thursday night. Instead of using her words, police allege Watts opted for Silly String, unloading the can on the man before hurling the empty container directly at his head.

The makeshift projectile reportedly left the victim with a cut on his forehead, an injury that officers noted in their report. What sparked the confrontation is still unclear—the affidavit doesn’t explain whether Watts and the man knew each other or if this was simply a spur-of-the-moment attack fueled by… whatever mood leads someone to weaponize a can of Silly String in a crowded restaurant.

Watts was taken into custody and charged with misdemeanor battery. She was booked into Pinellas County Jail and later released after posting bond, according to court records. The victim was treated at the scene for his injury.

The case caught attention because Silly String is typically associated with birthday parties, parades, or prank videos—not police reports. “It’s definitely unusual,” one officer said, noting that novelty items rarely end up in affidavits tied to battery charges.

At this point, investigators haven’t offered additional details on what led to the confrontation or whether more charges could follow. For now, Watts is facing a misdemeanor charge, and her court date will determine the next steps.

If convicted, Watts could face up to one year in prison, as well as fines of up to $1,000. Depending on her previous criminal record, however, Watts may just be subjected to probation, community service, or requisite mental health counseling.

As of this writing, the Pinellas Park Police Department hasn’t released any further updates.
