Video Shows Man Pulling Driver From Car That Exploded

Ashford, Connecticut resident Glenwood Little was saved from near-certain death following a sudden explosion in his car. As NBC Connecticut reports, Edward Cyr saved Little from the fire that began after the explosion occurred, and the incident was all caught on video.

"We kind of see a car looks like it’s on fire and as we get close to him, we noticed there was a man inside," Cyr said. "I went to grab and he was stuck in his seat belt so I had to reach in and unbuckle him and then pull him out." In the video of the moment, which took place around the beginning of November, Cyr can be seen pulling over after witnessing the explosion and rushing over to assist Little.

"I heard the can and I hear this 'doosh, doosh,' like the gas is leaking out and like I said I had a cigarette going, next thing I know, boom," Little said of the ordeal. "All of a sudden the door opens up, I didn’t even see the guy come to the door, he opens it up and he reaches in and he gets my seatbelt off. My coat and my hat was in flames and he ripped the hat off and my coat and as he took me out I went right into the back of the ambulance."

An ambulance was nearby when the explosion occurred, and rushed to help the two men. Little is still recovering from his injuries. Cyr meanwhile, was recognized by the local fire department for his bravery, with Little was in attendance. "For him to do what he did, you know I'm here to spend a little bit more time with my grandchildren," Little added.
