Man’s ‘Family Feud' Jokes About Regretting Marriage Resurface Amid Investigation Into Wife's Murder

Jokes an Illinois man made on 'Family Feud' about regretting his marriage have resurfaced as authorities suspect he’s behind the murder of his estranged wife.

Jokes an Illinois man made during an appearance on Family Feud about regretting his marriage have resurfaced as he’s been charged with the murder of his estranged wife.

Per KHQA, 39-year-old Timothy Bliefnick was arrested on Monday, March 13 in connection with the murder of his estranged wife Rebecca, who was found dead in her home from multiple gunshot wounds last month. Bliefnick has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and home invasion.

He appeared alongside his family on Family Feud three years ago, and comments he made on the show have received renewed attention following his arrest.

“What’s your biggest mistake you made at your wedding?” Steve Harvey asked him on the episode, which was filmed in late 2019 but aired in Jan. 2020. “Honey, I love you, but, ‘said I do,’” he replied. “Not my mistake, not my mistake — I love my wife. I’m gonna get in trouble for that, aren’t I?”

In comments shared with Fox News, Bliefnick’s attorney, Casey Schnack, maintained his client’s innocence and said the comments were harmless jokes and not a reference to any marriage issues. “It’s a game show,” she said. “A silly answer to a silly question on a silly show doesn’t make one a murderer.”

The couple married in 2009, but they were going through divorce proceedings at the time Rebecca was found dead. They reportedly separated a few years ago, and several public records showed that she filed a restraining order against him and his father.
