A 61-year-old man was arrested on Christmas Eve after he allegedly fatally shot his 26-year-old son over a dispute about his wife's apparent infidelity.

Per Law and Crime, Harold Luster has been charged with the murder of his son, Kevin M. Ward, after shooting him during an argument about his wife's alleged affair. As detailed by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office in Missouri, Luster is facing charges of first-degree murder and armed criminal action. According to Ward's fiancée, Luster threatened her and his son during the argument and accused them of "withholding information" about the suspected affair.

Investigations have indicated that Luster "retrieved a firearm from the residence and threatened another person before allegedly shooting his son." Ward and his fiancée were visiting his father for the holidays. Lusted said that he believed his wife, Ward's mother, was cheating on him and his son's fiancée knew about it. She said that at one point during the argument, he asked her, "Do you want to get shot?" He left to retrieve a firearm and Ward told his fiancée to get him a knife, leave, and "call 911 if something happened."

She told police she overheard them arguing as she left, with Ward telling his father, "You're not going to shoot her." In response, he told his son, "You want to get shot instead?" She said that she saw him fire his gun at Ward, who fell to the floor after taking one shot to the head. Footage from a neighbor's security camera also reportedly showed the moment Luster fatally shot his son.

Luster is currently in custody at the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Jail on a no-bond warrant.
