If you’ve ever wanted to choreograph a dance routine to the entirety of Frank Ocean’s “Pyramids,” now is your chance.

TikTok announced on Monday that it is expanding its maximum video length to 10 minutes, an increase from its previous cap of three minutes. The three-minute videos were introduced last July; prior to that, one minute was the cap. The latest update is now rolling out globally.

“We’re always thinking about new ways to bring value to our community and enrich the TikTok experience,” a company spokesperson told the publication. “Last year, we introduced longer videos, giving our community more time to create and be entertained on TikTok. Today, we’re excited to start rolling out the ability to upload videos that are up to 10 minutes, which we hope would unleash even more creative possibilities for our creators around the world.”

As TikTok expands to longer videos and gives users more of an incentive to vlog on the platform, some users received notifications about the expansion on Monday.

As the Verge points out, despite the longer clips allowing TikTok to potentially compete with YouTube, the platforms it hopes to compete against are continuously rolling out ways to consume shorter content, from YouTube Shorts to Instagram Reels.
