Riley Leon, 16, was driving home after a job interview at Whataburger when his truck was spun around on its side, per the Dallas Morning NewsStorm chaser Brian Emfinger recorded the incident in real time, and the clip shows Leon driving back home after it all went down.

“I had actually gotten home from the wreck and my brother was like, ‘Have you seen the video,’ and I was like, ‘What video?’ And he showed it to me, and I was like, ‘That’s actually me,’” Leon ecalled to KHOU. “… Thankful to God for giving me another chance in this life. He probably did it for a reason. He’s probably, in the future, gonna bring better plans into my life.”

The clip shows all types of debris circling around the truck, but Leon was persistent and stayed inside during the ordeal. A National Weather Service preliminary report said the tornado hit wind speeds of about 115 mph. A teacher also posted a GoFundMe for Leon, and has raised nearly $40,000 for medical expenses—due to back pain—and to help him secure a means of transportation.

As the station shares, Leon is already getting calls from car dealerships hoping to throw him some help. He also got the job at the burger joint, and reportedly begins on Monday as an employee.
