Police in Aurora, Colorado are investigating a shooting that resulted in 6 high school students being rushed to a hospital on Monday.

The shooting took place at Nome Park, which is near Aurora Central High School before 1 p.m. local time, and 6 students were rushed to the hospital, with one driving himself with minor injuries. The victims are between the ages of 14 to 18, according to Denver’s CBS 4.

As 9NEWS reports, Aurora Police Chief Vanessa Wilson said the incident that took place was an apparent drive-by shooting, and that authorities are looking for multiple suspects, with APD’s Gang Intervention Unit taking part in the search.

Wilson said one student was undergoing emergency surgery, but all are expected to survive. Witness Mekialaya White told CBS 4 that she heard what sounded like “30 to 50” shots fired. And with suspects potentially on foot, Wilson is asking for the public’s help in locating them.

“I want to thank the school resource officers who were among the first on the scene and provided life-saving measures,” Wilson said.
