Quavo and the Rocket Foundation announced the launch of an Emergency Trauma Therapy Fund in response to a wave of gun violence that left 49 people shot over the weekend.
According to a press release shared with Complex, the fund aims to provide trauma-informed therapy and mental health resources to youth and families affected by the shooting.
Among the victims were two individuals directly connected to the foundation: 18-year-old Deshawn Johnson, a participant in the 2024 Rocket Camp, and Aaron Hines, known as Coach Ball, a leader from the Offenders Alumni Association.
All donations to the fund will go directly towards providing therapeutic services through trusted community partners Hope Hustlers and the Offenders Alumni Association.
The Rocket Foundation was founded by Quavo in 2022 to honor the life and legacy of his late Migos bandmate, Takeoff, who died that year from gun violence. It has partnered with ten nonprofits, hosted national summits, and raised public awareness through initiatives in collaboration with the White House and Vice President Kamala Harris.
Community members are encouraged to contribute to the fund to help provide immediate support to those affected. Donations can be made at www.pledge.to/rocket-foundation.
