A former beauty queen was found dead inside a Mexico City apartment and investigators are now treating the case as a homicide.
Carolina Flores Gómez, 27, was found dead on Wednesday (April 15) inside an apartment in the Polanco neighborhood after an emergency call led police and paramedics to the scene, according to Reporte Indigo and TMZ.
Authorities confirmed she had no vital signs upon arrival, and early findings indicate she died from a gunshot wound to the head, prompting the Mexico City Attorney General's Office to open a homicide investigation.
Reporte Indigo also stated that initial inquiries indicated the possible involvement of her husband, Alejandro, and mother-in-law, Erika María.
According to Univision, both Gómez’s husband and mother-in-law were allegedly present in the apartment at the time of the shooting.
Gómez was originally from Baja California and had been crowned Miss Teen Universe Baja California in 2017.
