One of the Alleged New Orleans Jail Escapees Pleads With NBA YoungBoy and Donald Trump for Help

Authorities are actively investigating videos circulating on social media that allegedly feature escaped New Orleans inmate, Antoine Massey.

Although the authenticity of the footage hasn’t been verified, federal sources told CBS-affiliate 4WWL Louisiana that investigators were made aware of the post late Monday afternoon and they are taking it seriously.

In the video, the man claims, “I’m one of the ones that was let out of OJC.”

“Who I was in the past is not who I am today,” he said in the clip, while denying allegations that he threatened a maintenance worker with a weapon.

He criticized the jail system as “corrupted,” while pointing to both the Orleans Justice Center and St. Tammany Parish jails and displaying documents he claims are legal affidavits.

“So I'm asking, please for help. [NBA] Young Boy, Meek Mill … People that been through the system that know it's corrupt,” the man pleaded on camera. “Lil Wayne, Donald Trump, please, I'm asking for help … When I get back in custody, I'm asking y'all please to come and help me.”

He continued, “I'm letting y'all know I'm not a raper, man. I'm not none of that. None of that. I'm a good person. I am a father that want to be in my children's life … I want to let the younger you know that going down the route of trying to be a street person is not the route.”

Massey is one of ten inmates who escaped from the Orleans Justice Center on May 16, but only he and Derrick Groves remain at large. A $50,000 reward is being offered for information leading to their capture.

“If the individual depicted in the video is indeed Antoine Massey, we strongly urge him to come forward and turn himself in to the proper authorities,” said Orleans Parish Sheriff Susan Hutson in a statement. “Cooperating with law enforcement is in his best interest and may help avoid additional charges. It is important that justice is served appropriately and that due process is followed.”

Per 4WWL, Massey’s history of escapes dates back to 2007, when he and five other juveniles broke out of the Youth Study Center, also known as the Juvenile Justice Intervention Center. Since then, he has escaped from the Morehouse Detention Center in 2019 and cut off an ankle monitor just two hours after being fitted with it in 2023.

Massey is also suspected of playing a key role in the recent mass escape.

A jail maintenance worker, Sterling Williams, claimed Massey threatened to “shank” him if he didn’t open an escape route. As a result, Williams now faces felony charges.
