A parent reportedly told the teens to use the symbol while posing for a photo at their spring prom.

One group of teenage boys in Wisconsin have clearly never taken a history class.

A picture of Baraboo High School juniors at their spring prom has gone viral for one disturbing reason: most of the boys in the photos are doing a Nazi salute. The picture includes around 50 students, though there are a handful not participating in the racist symbolism.

In 2018, with technology, Google and books there is absolutely no reason that a group of teens shouldn’t understand the fascist, racist, deathly history of that salute. To make matters worse, it was reportedly a parent who took the photo.

“We need to explain what is the danger of hateful ideology rising,” the Auschwitz Museum tweeted over the photo. “Auschwitz with its gas chambers was at the very end of the long process of normalizing and accommodating hatred.”
