Instagram users experienced the five stages of grief on Thursday morning as Instagram accidently rolled out a new update to its feed. The outrage set in immediately as people opened up their app to a “tap-to-advance” layout, similar to IG stories, instead of the traditional scroll.

“This was caused by a bug and we quickly rolled it back,” an Instagram spokesperson told TechCrunch.

Adam Mosseri, Head of Instagram, also chimed in shortly after the backlash.

The change has been reversed and Instagram feeds are returning to normal, but not before everyone lost their shit, taking their anger and grief to Twitter.
