Another noose has been found in Washington D.C. This is the third time a noose has been discovered in recent weeks. All three discoveries were made on the National Mall, an area that encompasses Capitol Hill, the Washington Monument, and several museums. The first noose was found in late May on the grounds of the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden. Then a few days later another noose was discovered. Tourist saw the noose at the National Museum of African American History and Culture in an exhibition on the subject of segregation.

Museum director Lonnie Bunch wrote a statement, which was posted on Twitter, reagrding the events.

Then, on Saturday afternoon a third noose was found hanging on a lamp post outside the National Gallery of Art. The US park police are conducting an investigation as to how and who placed the hurtful symbol of racial violence there. Stay tuned for updates.
