The government’s request for permission to enforce President Donald Trump’s desired travel and refugee ban while it makes its way through the legal system has been denied. A federal appeals court enforced the on-hold status of the executive order.

“[T]he Government has failed to establish that it will likely succeed on its due process argument in this appeal,” the court ruled, according to BuzzFeed.

Trump, as you have probably come to expect, quickly tweeted a response.

Last Friday, U.S. District Judge James Robart issued an order halting enforcement of major parts of the ban, which restricts travel from seven majority-Muslim countries.

A federal appeals court originally rejected the Department of Justice’s request to immediately restore the ban Sunday.

The DOJ moved on to focusing on its suspension and asking that the trial court’s order be stayed, or put on hold, while the executive order case is worked out in court.

Trump’s opponents on the political spectrum were thrilled with the result.

As Trump implied in his tweet, the president will almost certainly continue to fight this in court.
