For the pizza lovers among us, your pie-eating experience may have just leveled up. Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, has revolutionized the college experience, adding what is believed to be America's first pizza ATM to a campus residence hall—and will hopefully be the first of many. The machine will serve up hot and fresh pizzas in 3 minutes for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, according to Cincinnati.com.
The cheesy, 12-inch pizzas cost $9. The technology works like many other modern food vending machines: you just choose your toppings (pepperoni, veggie, etc.) on a touchscreen and hit a button. Then the machine creates the pizza with an internal convection oven, and within three minutes, your pizza pops out of a slot.
The machine can hold about 70 pieces at a time. Previously, Xavier students' only pizza option was a Domino's, pioneer of the pizza emoji ordering systmem, so it's safe to assume they'll be thrilled when they return to campus this fall.
