Rory McIlroy is still basking in the glow of a second consecutive Masters victory, but fans are already itching to see him back on the course. Below, we will look at when we can expect to see McIlroy tee it up again, and also look at his betting odds for upcoming tournaments.
When will Rory McIlroy play again?
McIlroy stated after his win at Augusta that he will “take a couple of weeks off” before entering another tournament. That means he will miss this week’s RBC Heritage at Hilton Head Island.
It also appears that Rory will skip the Zurich Classic of New Orleans as well. Since 2017, the Zurich Classic has been a team event. McIlroy and Shane Lowry teamed up to win the event in 2024. McIlroy also played in the tournament with Lowry last year after his first Masters win, but it was announced in March that Lowry would be partnering with Brooks Koepka in New Orleans this year.
That means that the next time we will likely see McIlroy play will be the Cadillac Championship at Trump National Doral, which takes place April 30 - May 3.
US President Donald Trump even mentioned it when he congratulated McIlroy on his second consecutive Masters win.
“Congratulations to Rory McIlroy on another great championship, The Masters!,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “He performed tremendously under intense pressure, something which few people would be able to even think about doing. With each year, Rory is becoming more and more a LEGEND! I look forward to watching him compete in two weeks at Doral.”
The Cadillac Championship is a new “signature event” on the PGA Tour.
Rory McIlroy US Open Odds
Fanatics Sportsbook already has odds posted for several upcoming majors, including this year’s US Open. McIlroy is +710 to win. He trails only Scottie Scheffler (+370) on Fanatics’ odds board.
This year’s US Open will be held at Shinnecok Hills Golf Club on Long Island, New York. It will be the sixth time that Shinnecock Hills has hosted the US Open, and the first time since 2018.
McIlroy did not fare well at Shinnecock Hills in 2018 as he missed the cut.
The Northern Irishman has one US Open win on his resume, capturing the title in 2011 at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland.
Rory McIlroy British Open Odds
McIlroy has +730 odds to win this year’s British Open, which will take place at Royal Birkdale Golf Club in North West England. Royal Birkdale will be hosting The Open Championship for the first time since 2017.
McIlroy had a strong showing that year, finishing T4.
He has one British Open title, having won at Royal Liverpool Golf Club in 2014.
Rory McIlroy Masters Odds
McIlroy was among the favorites to win the 2026 Masters heading into the tournament as he owned +1200 odds at Fanatics Sportsbook. He was not THE favorite, however, as Scottie Scheffler, Jon Rahm (+900), and Bryson DeChambeau (+1000) had lower numbers last Wednesday.
McIlroy was -625 to win heading into final round play on Sunday. He was +275 after the first round, and -275 after the second round.
