Serena Williams isn’t the only tennis star making a comeback. Nick Kyrgios, who has 23 fewer major singles titles than the GOAT, made his own triumphant return to the court this week. Kyrgios picked up his first singles win in 15 months on Tuesday as he defeated Corentin Moutet 6-3, 6-4 in 68 minutes at the BOSS Open in Stuttgart, Germany. Kyrgios had been sidelined in singles action due to injuries.

“Confident isn’t a word I’m feeling just yet … I’ll see how I feel tomorrow,” Kyrgios told beIN Sports Australia after beating Moutet. “I’ve had a wrist re-construction, I’ve had four knee surgeries. So I’m really battling but at the same time I’ve been putting in a lot of work. I’m feeling really good about myself … I’ve got so many fans … there were so many times where I was thinking, ‘why am I playing?, what more do I need to do?’ but I look at [my fans in attendance] and know this is why I’m playing.”

Moutet came into the match as world No. 36. Kyrgios doesn’t have an active ATP ranking due to inactivity.

Kyrgios will now shift his attention to Sho Shimabukuro, who is world No. 101. Kyrgios vs. Shimabukuro is set to take place Thursday at 6:30 a.m. ET.

Kyrgios is a -135 betting favorite at Fanatics Sportsbook. His total games over/under prop has been set at 13.5, with juice on the Under.

The total sets prop for the match has been set at Over 2.5 (+120) and Under 2.5 (-160).

Kyrgios, who has been ranked as high as ATP singles No. 13, most notably reached the Wimbledon final in 2022. He played only one singles match in 2023, missed the entire 2024 season, and played in just five singles matches in 2025. The Australian’s only singles match in 2026 prior to Tuesday’s win over Moutet came at the Brisbane International in January. Aleksandar Kovacevic took down Kygrios, 6-3, 6-4.

Kyrgios is planning on playing a full grass-court season. He is listed on the Fanatics Wimbledon odds board at +12000.
