Deebo Samuel remains one of the most versatile players in the NFL, but the 30-year-old veteran still finds himself without a pro football home. Samuel is one of several big-name receivers remaining in NFL free agency as Stefon Diggs, Tyreek Hill, and DeAndre Hopkins remain unsigned. Below, we will look at all of the latest rumors regarding teams and their interest in Samuel.
Deebo Samuel rumors: Which team will sign the WR?
Most NFL teams are hosting minicamps this week, but we are entering something of a dead zone when it comes to major transactions. On June 1, we saw blockbuster deals go down as the LA Rams landed Myles Garrett via trade, and the New England Patriots brought in AJ Brown via trade. Free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham also signed with the New York Giants, which impacted the market on these veteran receivers. It was one less potential landing spot for the vets mentioned above, and Samuel.
Deebo Samuel to the Ravens?
The Ravens would love to get rid of Rashod Bateman and his contract. If Baltimore GM Eric DeCosta can move off of Bateman this summer, that would open up the door for the Ravens to sign Samuel.
USA Today’s Jacob Camenker listed the Ravens as the most likely landing spot for Samuel back in late May.
“The Ravens could use a proven No. 2 receiver across from Zay Flowers,” Camenker wrote. “They have been willing to add veteran receivers to the fold in recent seasons—just as they did with DeAndre Hopkins in 2025—so perhaps Samuel could be next in line.
“Samuel’s ability to serve as an out-of-the-backfield pass-catcher could appeal to Baltimore, as Derrick Henry has only twice topped 20 receptions in a season during his 10-year NFL career.”
Deebo Samuel to the Raiders?
The Raiders are in desperate need of an older voice in their wide receiver room, as 25-year-old Tre Tucker currently serves as Las Vegas’ “old wise man.”
Samuel was an outstanding locker room presence during his one year in Washington, by most accounts, and he served as one of the 49ers’ team captains while with San Francisco.
Camenker also listed the Raiders as a possible landing spot for Samuel.
“The Raiders are poised to enter the 2026 NFL season with a young, inexperienced receiving corps, so it could behoove Las Vegas to add a proven commodity to the fold,” Camenker wrote. “Samuel’s thicker frame makes him a nice complement for the smaller, speedier Tre Tucker and Jalen Nailor and it’s easy to imagine the 30-year-old quickly emerging as a safety valve for Fernando Mendoza.”
Deebo Samuel to the Seahawks?
When a team hires a new head coach or a new coordinator, those coaches typically like to bring in one or two of “their guys.”
The reigning Super Bowl champion Seahawks hired Brian Fleury as their offensive coordinator in February after Klint Kubiak left to become head coach of the Raiders. Fleury was a coach in San Francisco from 2019 – 2025, so he was a part of the coaching staff that helped Samuel become arguably the top hybrid player in the game.
Fleury mentioned in his introductory press conference that he wants the Seahawks offense to “be fast and violent and aggressive in every way.”
Those are certainly traits of Samuel, who is the only wide receiver in NFL history to have over 20 career receiving TDs and 20 career rushing TDs.
FOX Sports’ Ben Arthur also mentioned the Seahawks as a potential fit for Samuel back in May.
“The Seahawks shouldn’t rule out more depth at wide receiver,” Arthur wrote. “Given that he’ll have a full year with Seattle in 2026, midseason acquisition Rashid Shaheed should naturally step into the WR2 role alongside Offensive Player of the Year Jaxon Smith-Njigba. But Cooper Kupp is entering his age-33 season.
“New Seahawks offensive coordinator Brian Fleury and the 30-year-old Samuel overlapped in San Francisco from 2019-24, including for Samuel’s first-team All-Pro season in 2021.”
Of note, the Seahawks do have a new opening in their wide receiver room as they released WR Levi Wentz on Monday.
