The Thunder have coasted in the NBA Playoffs thus far, even though one of their top players has been on the shelf for nearly a month. Jalen Williams has played in just two postseason games in 2026 due to a left hamstring strain. Oklahoma City will host Game 1 of the 2026 Western Conference Finals against the San Antonio Spurs tonight. Below, we will dish out all of the latest information on Williams’ status.
Jalen Williams injury update: Will he play tonight in Game 1 vs. the Spurs?
Williams is listed as “available” on the Thunder injury report for Game 1 and he is expected to play. The 2025 NBA All-Star has been out since April 22 with a Grade 1 hamstring strain. This type of injury typically only takes 1-3 weeks to recover from, but the Thunder have had the luxury of not having to rush Williams back.
Oklahoma City disposed of Phoenix in a sweep in the first round of the NBA Playoffs on April 27. The Thunder then had seven days of rest prior to the start of their second round series against the Lakers.
Oklahoma City head coach Mark Daigneault described Williams as “week-to-week” in the early portion of the semifinals series with Los Angeles. Had OKC had any difficulty with the Lakers early in the series it was likely that Williams would have made an earlier return to action. That was not the case, however, as the Thunder won Game 1 by 18 points, Game 2 by 18 points, and Game 3 by 23 points on their way to another sweep.
Williams also missed giant chunks of the regular season due to recovery from wrist surgery and previous hamstring strains. He played in just 33 games in the 2025-26 regular season. Combined with the playoffs, the Thunder are 45-10 without the services of their star guard.

Williams will likely be on something of a minutes restriction for Game 1 of the WCF considering this is his first game action in 26 days.
Williams missed 10 games due to a hamstring injury in late January and early February. In his first game back, against the Lakers on Feb. 9, he played 24 minutes and led OKC in scoring with 23 points.
The Thunder wing was out again due to hamstring issues from Feb. 12 to March 23. In his first game back from that absence, he played 20 minutes against the 76ers and scored 18 points.
Williams’ points Over/Under at Fanatics for Game 1 is 15.5 with juice on the Under.
His O/U for 3-pointers made is 0.5 with juice on the Over.
