Ja Morant is just 26-years-old but is at a crossroads in his career. In the next couple of seasons, he could prove to be one of the best reclamation projects in NBA history, or find himself out of the league altogether. Anything is possible for Ja moving forward.

The Memphis Grizzlies appear to be ready to deal their troubled superstar, with more and more trade rumors popping up. Below, we will take a look at potential landing spots for the two-time All-Star.

Ja Morant trade to the Bucks?
The biggest domino that will fall this offseason currently resides in Milwaukee. If Giannis Antetokounmpo is indeed traded, it will send repercussions throughout the NBA.

Bucks co-owner Jimmy Haslam has stated that he wants the Giannis situation resolved before the first round of the NBA Draft, which is now just 11 days away.

Bucks GM Jon Horst could potentially trade for Morant in the coming days in a last ditch attempt to prove to Giannis that the team is serious about building a contender once again. Or, Morant could be a key piece of the long-rumored Giannis trade.

It’s becoming increasingly likely that if Giannis is traded, it will need to be a multi-team deal to accommodate all of the parties involved.

Morant landing in Milwaukee makes some sense, considering that Taylor Jenkins is the new head coach. Jenkins coached Morant in Memphis from 2019-2025 and Jenkins oversaw Morant’s best seasons in the NBA.

When the Grizzlies fired Jenkins in March of 2025, Morant was said to be upset.

“Ja was surprised,” a source told NBA reporter Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson at the time. “Ja loves him.”

Ja Morant trade to Raptors?
Morant to the Raptors picked up some steam this week as NBA analyst Jake Weinbach suggested Toronto as a good spot for the 2020 NBA Rookie of the Year.

“It may not be the best fit, but Toronto could view Morant as a worthwhile buy-low opportunity to acquire a star-level point guard, especially if Jakob Poeltl’s contract can be offloaded as part of the deal,” Weinbach posted on X.

Ja Morant trade to Celtics?
The Celtics continue to be one of the teams most linked to a potential Giannis trade. If Celtics president of basketball operations Brad Stevens does not ultimately pull the trigger on a Giannis deal, he will surely pivot towards making a different deal.

Stevens firmly implied in a press conference following Boston’s stunning loss to the 76ers in the first round that sizable roster changes were coming this summer. The Celtics’ boss wants the team to change its style of play with a need for more scoring opportunities at the rim.

Of course, few players in the NBA can get to the rim quite like Morant.

Stevens has had success during his tenure in the Boston front office of bringing in big-name talents when their value was low. He swung a deal for Malcolm Brogdon in 2022 and Brogdon ended up winning NBA Sixth Man of the Year in Boston for the 2022-23 season. He brought in Kristaps Porzingis from Washington in 2023 and Porzingis wound up being the missing piece to Boston’s championship puzzle in 2023-24.
