The 2026 Italian Open championship will be decided Saturday when Coco Gauff takes on Elina Svitolina. The 22-year-old Gauff is chasing her first Internazionali BNL d’italia crown while the 31-year-old Svitolina is looking to capture the title for the third time.

Svitolina has not won this tournament since 2018, but she is enjoying quite the renaissance this season. The Ukrainian is 22-7 in 2026 and has made tournament finals three times this year, including the ASB Classic in January - which she won. She has also faced Gauff twice already in 2026, and won both times.

Svitolina downed Gauff in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open (6-1, 6-2), and beat her again a few weeks later in the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships (6-4, 6-7, 6-4).

Gauff won the previous two matchups, as the Boca Raton, Florida native topped Svitolina in the 2024 US Open (3-6, 6-3, 6-3), and the 2024 ASB Classic (6-7, 6-3, 6-3).

Svitolina leads the all-time head-to-head series between the two with a 3-2 advantage, and she will look to make it 4-2 on Saturday.

“I definitely have a game plan. Not now exactly, but I will have it," Svitolina said (via WTATennis.com) of her upcoming matchup with Gauff, and shortly after she beat Iga Swiatek in the Italian Open semifinals. “We’ve played many times. It’s not a surprise. We both know the way we bring the fight. Our last match was something out of this world. I’m going to rewatch that to find the ways -- some tactics.”

Gauff is a -160 moneyline favorite at Fanatics Sportsbook to beat Svitolina. Svitolina is +130 on the moneyline, despite being a perfect 7-0 in WTA clay-court finals.

Gauff, the 2025 French Open champion, is certainly no slouch on clay courts herself. In fact, Gauff just broke the record for most wins at a clay-court WTA 1000 event before the age of 23 with her 34th victory on clay.

“Overall, I feel like my game is getting better,” Gauff said after beating Cirstea in the Italian Open semis (via WTATennis.com). “There are moments that I still can fine-tune and do better at. I definitely think it's [headed] in the right direction."

There are also a ton of Gauff vs. Svitolina props to bet on at Fanatics, including odds on the first set. The most likely set 1 outcome is Gauff 6-3 at +500.

The Over/Under on total sets at Fanatics is 2.5, with juice on the Under (-170). Three out of the last four meetings between Gauff and Svitolina have gone to three sets.

The total games O/U has been set at 21.5 with juice on the Over (-125).
